The Omnivore’s Hundred

Taken from Very Good Taste this is a fun activity that lets people analyze a list of 100 things that, according to VGT, every good omnivore should have tried at least once in their life.

Here are the rules:

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.

I like rules and I LOVE lists, so here’s mine:

1. Venison (when I was a kid my dad brought home some venison pepperoni from Denmark)
2. Nettle tea (not really sure what this is)
3. Huevos rancheros (si, por favor)
4. Steak tartare (does carpaccio count?)
5. Crocodile
6. Black pudding
7. Cheese fondue
8. Carp
9. Borscht
10. Baba ghanoush (now that I know what this is, I want to try it)
11. Calamari (drool)
12. Pho
13. PB&J sandwich (double drool)
14. Aloo gobi
15. Hot dog from a street cart (I’ve eaten A LOT of different things from street carts)

18. Fruit wine made from something other than grapes (I just had pomelo wine, pretty tasty)

20. Pistachio ice cream (I have been craving this all week!)

23. Foie gras (maybe this isn’t a good idea to do this “survey” without any food nearby…)
