Collab with Pie-Curious: Chocolate Graham Cracker Pie with Kahlua Mascarpone
My top 3 favorite pies: Key Lime Pie, Pecan Pie, and Chocolate Pie (or Any Pie That Has Chocolate).
My top 3 favorite movie scenes featuring pies: Amy Adams making chocolate cream pie in Julie and Julia, Andie McDowell singing about pie and John Travolta eating pie in Michael, Meg Ryan ordering apple pie ala mode in When Harry Met Sally.
My top 3 favorite pie places in Boston: Petsi Pies, Flour Bakery, and Pie-Curious.
My friend Malia owns and operates Pie-Curious. She makes incredible pies with sophisticated flavors, and I’ve been a fan since my first bite. We’ve been talking for months about doing something together and now that it’s the holiday season, we figured it’s a great time to do a colloboration for a decadent chocolate pie.
We played around with different flavor profiles and recipes (this past week we taste tested at least three pies #toughlife) until we arrived at what we both think is the best chocolate pie. Homemade chocolate graham cracker pie topped with espresso kahlua mascarpone cream and smoked sea salt. It’s a very delicious mouthful.
Think buttery graham cracker crust, velvety chocolate filling, fluffy espresso and Kahlua mascarpone whipped cream, finished with a generous sprinkling of smoked sea salt. Oh yeah.
Aside from this Chocolate Graham Cracker Pie with Kahlua Mascarpone and Smoked Sea Salt (next time we’ll work on a shorter pie name), Pie-Curious also offers other holiday pies:
Cranberry Citrus Pie with Gingersnap Crust
Whiskey & Walnut Orange Pie
We did the photos shoot this past weekend and I was so happy with how my pictures came out. I had a great time styling all these pies, and of course, taste testing and eating Malia’s mouth-watereing creations. If you’re in the Boston area, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ordering a pie (for pick-up in Jamaica Plain or Downtown Boston).
