Dish of the Week | Chocolate Kouign Amman from B Patisserie, San Francisco
Kouign amman (pronounced queen-ah-man) is a French pastry, buttery and flaky like a croissant, with a slightly crunchier and caramelized exterior. I was in San Francisco for a few days and my friends were adamant that I have to check out B. Patisserie for the best kouign amman ever. They were right.
I got the chocolate kouign amman (of course) and loved each heavenly bite. Crusty and sweet outside, layers and layers of buttery pastry inside, with a dollop of thick dark chocolate on top. I can’t stop thinking about how good it was, and now have to (HAVE TO) go on a personal quest here in Boston to find a kouign amman that’s just as good.
