Please Help Me Raise Money for Perkins School for the Blind
Vision 5K lets you run with your feet.. see with your heart.
I wrote about the Vision 5K before and this year I’m running it again (my boyfriend and I ran last year) to raise money for Perkins School for the Blind.
Vision 5k raises awareness and funds to give the blind and visually impaired the power to transform their lives. I am raising funds for Perkins School for the Blind. My family and I will be eternally grateful to this school because it helped my sister Monica, who is deaf-blind, grow and live a richer, more fulfilling life. After she came to Perkins, my sister has learned to prepare her own breakfast, write and mail letters, make new friends, dance in a prom, and work at a part-time job. These may be just ordinary activities for many people, but to Monica these are personal and social milestones. I always say that Perkins changed my sister’s life, and it changed my family’s life. The school is working, one step at a time, to uplift the lives of countless blind children and their families with its educational programs.
