Dish of the Week | Brown Butter Soft Serve from Eventide Fenway

Yes, you go to Eventide for the crave-worthy hot lobster roll, but there’s another brown butter specialty that you should be eating ASAP: the brown butter soft serve, with maple pecan crumbles, and bourbon caramel.

This ice cream beauty from Eventide Fenway (the more casual sibling to the popular Portland restaurant) achieved the perfect ratio of textures and flavors: soft, creamy, crunchy, sweet, salty, addicting.

The first time I tried this, I shared a cup with my husband, and one bite in we both realized that we should’ve gotten our own orders. The next time I knew better, and also said YES! when the friendly staff asked if I wanted a waffle cone, too. The cone, with the smell of warm cinnamon wafting and the crunch of a childhood favorite, added even more flavor and dimension to the soft serve sundae.

The food at Eventide Fenway is ridiculously good (check out the tuna crudo, fish and chips, and charred cauliflower on my Instagram) but this brown butter soft serve is utterly flawless. Make sure you save room for it!
