“All for one, and one for all…”
Can you read that sentence without singing along? Aha! I knew it. I’m not the only one. Or am I? Hello?
Before I further embarrass myself by admitting my teenage crush on Bryan Adams (oops), let me recap the 3 Musketeers Like-Up Happy Hour event at the W Hotel in Boston. I was contacted by 3 Musketeers (the candy bar, not the movie franchise) to co-host the event last Tuesday, and fellow chocoholics came out in full force.
We were encouraged to take some so even if I already tried a mini bar when I got there, I took another one or two (or six) for my candy stash at home.
… because all night I sipped the best beverage that pairs with chocolate: wine. (Sadly, there was no milk available.)
That’s Will from The Boston Foodie, Meghan from Travel, Wine, and Dine, Daisy from Indulge Inspire Imbibe, Lin and Jon from Beantown Eats, me, and Erica from Boston Rookie
My mom is now back in the Philippines but while she was here in Boston, she was able to attend some food events with me, like our brunch cruise at the Odyssey, Taste of Perkins, and the Bivalves and Bubbles event at Legal Seafoods. We had a lot of fun together and I’m glad my mom was able to meet some of my blogger friends-turned-real life friends!
The cakes were created by the chefs at the W Hotel, and they were intensely chocolate-y. I loved the different textures, from the creamy mousse, to the crunchy base, and the bits of 3 Musketeers candy, and the chocolate slivers on top.

There were some raffle prizes (spa gift certificates, American Airlines gift card, etc) and my friend Sara won the chocolate loot!
It was a fun event overall, and I’m proud to have been part of it. Thank you to everyone who was able to come, and thanks to 3 Musketeers and the W for a chocolate-filled happy hour!

Have you ever tried a cake inspired by a candy bar?
I’m sorry I couldn’t make this fantastic event!
What a fun event! That 3 muskateers cake looks amazing… any chance you have the recipe?!
Lauren, I am trying to get it! If I do, I’ll post it here :)
Oh my goodness, that cake looks amazing! I may need to make something like that. I had a Milky Way-inspired tart last night. And I’ve made Snickers dessert bars before. So sorry I wasn’t able to make it to the event. And we missed you last night!
Milky Way-inspired tart sounds pretty amazing too! Sorry again I didn’t make it last night. We should get together again and make more candy-inspired desserts! :)
I’m sorry to have missed this! Looks like a total success. I had the same Milky Way inspired tart that Megan had and it was really good. I bet the 3M cake was perfection!
No worries Emily! Hopefully there’ll be other ones soon.
I am SO bummed I couldn’t make it. Of course it was the same day as the last market. Those cakes look fabulous.
It’s okay Elizabeth! And yes, I am still thinking about that cake ;)
Congratulations on a successful event! It looks like a lot of fun and that cake looks delicious!
That cake looks utterly decadent! My favorite dessert in college was the dining hall’s Reeses pie. That’s awesome you got to bring your mom to so many fun events.
Reese’s pie would probably be my favorite too if I had it in college!
You are definitely not alone as I was/am a huge Bryan Adams fan. :-)
I don’t know if I’ve ever had a cake inspired by a candy bar. I would love to have an Almond Joy cake.
Dude this looks like such a fun event! and the picture of you and your mom is gorgeous. :) and i’ve never tried a cake like that… looks delicious though.
This was such a fun event! I am glad it went so well and was so delicious! :)

Thanks Kim! The dress is Parker, I bought it from Saks about a year ago though so it’s old :)
THis event looks like so much fun! Especially the dessert!
Beautiful event. That cake looked insane. Hope you and your mom had lots of fun!
The candy-bar inspired cake sounds (and looks) DELECTABLE! What a fun event, and how cool that your mom could be there!
Wow- this is gorgeous!!! I haven’t ever tried to make a cake to mimic a candy bar- but I think I am inspired to do so now….
