3 Musketeers Event at the W

“All for one, and one for all…”

Can you read that sentence without singing along? Aha! I knew it. I’m not the only one. Or am I? Hello?

Before I further embarrass myself by admitting my teenage crush on Bryan Adams (oops), let me recap the 3 Musketeers Like-Up Happy Hour event at the W Hotel in Boston. I was contacted by 3 Musketeers (the candy bar, not the movie franchise) to co-host the event last Tuesday, and fellow chocoholics came out in full force.

I loved that the event was held at the beautiful W hotel

3 Musketeers booked "The Great Room," which was located on the second floor

the econd floor is as swanky as the first floor

with little decked out corners for lounging

upon checking in, guests of the event were greeted with shiny bars of 3 Musketeers

We were encouraged to take some so even if I already tried a mini bar when I got there, I took another one or two (or six) for my candy stash at home.

we were treated to an open bar that night, but I was not tempted by beer...

... nor by the other bottles of alcohol

… because all night I sipped the best beverage that pairs with chocolate: wine. (Sadly, there was no milk available.)

it's always nice to hang out with Boston bloggers

That’s Will from The Boston Foodie, Meghan from Travel, Wine, and Dine, Daisy from Indulge Inspire Imbibe, Lin and Jon from Beantown Eats, me, and Erica from Boston Rookie

some of my co-workers and their significant others also showed up

I've enjoyed many happy hours with these guys

my special guest for the night was my mom!

My mom is now back in the Philippines but while she was here in Boston, she was able to attend some food events with me, like our brunch cruise at the Odyssey, Taste of Perkins, and the Bivalves and Bubbles event at Legal Seafoods. We had a lot of fun together and I’m glad my mom was able to meet some of my blogger friends-turned-real life friends!

at the event, some appetizers were being passed around, like these caprese tortellinis

and beef skewers with a spicy satay sauce

but the highlight was a table filled with 3 Musketeers cakes

The cakes were created by the chefs at the W Hotel, and they were intensely chocolate-y. I loved the different textures, from the creamy mousse, to the crunchy base, and the bits of 3 Musketeers candy, and the chocolate slivers on top.

these ladies seem to like the cake too, no? (Mike couldn't even be bothered to look at the camera)

There were some raffle prizes (spa gift certificates, American Airlines gift card, etc) and my friend Sara won the chocolate loot!

It was a fun event overall, and I’m proud to have been part of it. Thank you to everyone who was able to come, and thanks to 3 Musketeers and the W for a chocolate-filled happy hour!

Have you ever tried a cake inspired by a candy bar?
